‘Terrific’, ‘Harry Kane-esque’: Media wowed by Tottenham 21-year-old’s display in friendly today
Tottenham Hotspur returned to action with a mid-season friendly win over Motherwell at Hotspur Way on Friday.
After four weeks away, Spurs were bright in their 4-0 victory over the Scottish Premiership side.
Despite quite a few Tottenham players away at – or just back from – the World Cup, Antonio Conte named a fairly strong side.

The likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Davinson Sanchez and Yves Bissouma were in the starting XI.
There were also opportunities for several top Spurs youngsters to try and impress Conte.
Harvey White, a defensive midfielder by trade, started as a false nine.
The likes of Brandon Austin and Charlie Sayers also featured.
In the end, it was a fairly routine win over Well, with Kulusevski, Bryan Gil and Matt Doherty getting on the scoresheet.
Quite a few players impressed on the day, and White will especially be pleased with his efforts on the day.
‘Linked midfield and attack really well’
Websites covering the match lauded the 21-year-old’s efforts.
‘s Alasdair Gold gave White an 8 out of 10.
‘Played as a false nine and worked hard in both halves,’ he wrote.
‘He played a terrific first-time curling pass into the path of Kulusevski to set up Gil for Spurs’ third goal.
‘He then had a couple of efforts early in the second half, sending one at the keeper and one high and wide.
‘Deserved a goal for his efforts.’

Meanwhile, gave White a 7 out of 10 for his performance.
‘Not an easy job for the youngster today but he did very well,’ they wrote.
‘Coming in and playing as a false nine was always going to be tricky, but he linked midfield and attack really well.
‘His ball around the corner to create Tottenham’s third goal was even Harry Kane-esque.’
