‘Tell-tale sign’… Graeme Souness thinks Christian Eriksen doesn’t rate £72m Manchester United teammate
Graeme Souness has given his take on Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the Premier League match against Liverpool at Anfield.
The Liverpool legend does not seem to rate Hojlund highly, noting what United playmaker Christian Eriksen has previously said about him.
So, what has Graeme Souness said about Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund? Let’s take a look.
Graeme Souness comments on Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund
Well, Graeme Souness has been given his take on Rasmus Hojlund. The Liverpool legend does not seem to be too impressed with the 20-year-old Denmark international striker.
The pundit has noted that former Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen was not particularly effusive in his praise of his Denmark international teammate.
Eriksen, 31, has been on the books of United since the summer of 2022. Hojlund moved to the Red Devils from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 for £72 million ().

Hojlund was injured for the opening weeks of the season. The 20-year-old has made nine starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for United this campaign. He scored five goals in six UEFA Champions League games for the Red Devils.
Souness wrote in : “This brings me onto Rasmus Hojlund. He cost £72million in the summer and still hasn’t scored in the league.
“I go back to when his fellow Dane, Christian Eriksen, was asked about him and all he said was that he’s quick and very aggressive.
“I thought that was a tell-tale sign, because someone who knows him should have been kinder and far more complimentary.”
Rasmus Hojlund needs to step up vs Liverpool
In my view, Rasmus Hojlund has to step up his game for Manchester United against Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Denmark international is very likely to start. It would be a great occasion for the 20-year-old to score his first Premier League goal for United.
He is a very good striker. It is also important that the two wide players create chances for Hojlund and play to his strengths against Liverpool.
