Teddy Sheringham says one Spurs player will be experiencing ‘the worst feeling’ right now
Tottenham Hotspur icon Teddy Sheringham has expressed sympathy for Harry Kane, who remains a doubt ahead of Sunday’s League Cup final.
The Spurs talisman is currently nursing an ankle injury, which caused him to limp off in last Friday’s 2-2 draw with Everton.
Kane was not in the squad for Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Southampton, and missed training again on Friday.

Tottenham interim manager Ryan Mason admits Spurs are “not sure yet” if Kane will be available to face Manchester City at Wembley.
As a former striker himself, Sheringham understands precisely how the England captain will be feeling, and hopes he’ll be able to play some part in the game.
“It’s got to be the worst feeling, it’s racing against time,” Sheringham is quoted by the as saying.
“He will be desperate to play and if he says ‘I’m 90 per cent fit, I want to take a chance’ that will be music to Ryan Mason’s ears.
“Because you need your top players on the pitch against Man City, it’s the toughest game you could think of in the Carabao Cup final.
“Against City, you have got to have everyone playing eight out of 10 at the least, a player on nine out of ten and a ten out of ten performance.
“All pulling together because it’s a 90 minute duel against City, you know they will test you in every seconds.”
TBR View:
As one of the top strikers in world football, Kane is simply indispensable for Spurs, but unfortunately he’s found himself on the sidelines on numerous occasions over the past few years.
It would be a huge shame were he to miss the League Cup final, an opportunity for Tottenham to lift their first major trophy since 2008, so let’s hope he does get passed fit.
