Teddy Sheringham praises West Ham captain Mark Noble’s continued influence

Two of Teddy Sheringham’s former clubs – West Ham and Manchester United – go head to head on Sunday and the former England striker has been effusive in his praise for Hammers skipper Mark Noble.

Sheringham played with £50,000-a-week () midfielder Noble during the twilight of his career and how much he rates Noble.

He : “I like the fact that they’re still being led by my man Mark Noble which is fantastic to see because he’s some player. West Ham are lucky to have someone like Mark because he knows the Premier League inside out and realises what makes West Ham United tick.

“Without doubt, he’s on the same wavelength as Pellegrini in terms of what the manager’s trying to achieve. He’s not the quickest but intelligent players don’t have to charge around because they can read the game. You can see Mark’s really enjoying his football and being part of this exciting West Ham team.”

TBR’s View – Noble’s example vital for new players as West Ham try to go to the next level

As West Ham have bought new players in to try and make it to the next level, there’s plenty of observers who thought that Noble would drop out of the Hammers’ first choice eleven.

That may happen if Pablo Fornals or Jack Wilshere hit form, but Noble’s example is vital as the Hammers try and hammer home a message about greater resilience and consistency.

The club needs players in the dressing room who can help the new boys understand the demands of playing for West Ham and that’s where Noble is so crucial.
