TBR View: Why David Moyes could ruin Everton’s chances of signing Ciro Immobile

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Lazio striker Ciro Immobile who currently tops the goalscoring charts from Europe’s top leagues – but David Moyes could ruin The Toffees’ chances of landing the on-fire Italian.

Immobile, 30, is at the top of his game right now and arguably one of the most in-form attackers in European football after netting 30 goals in 33 league and cup outings. Not only that, but the 30-year-old has also laid on seven assists.

suggests that Ancelotti, who has been linked with the former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund star in the past, is keen on bringing Immobile to Everton in the summer as a spearhead for his first full season in charge.

Indeed, Everton have never properly replaced Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian left for Manchester United. Both Cenk Tosun and Moise Kean have come in for big money, but neither have managed to make the grade.

Immobile certainly would, despite Dom Calvert-Lewin’s form. However, former Toffees boss Moyes may just ruin his old side’s chances of completing a deal for the Italian goal machine – by luring a Lazio player of his own to West Ham.

that West Ham want to sign former Manchester City powerhouse Caicedo, who has acted as Immobile’s back-up and impressed despite being given irregular game time.

Despite starting just 17 of his 29 appearances this season, 31-year-old Caicedo has had a hand in 13 goals – scoring eight and creating five. He has been the perfect back-up or partner for Immobile when needed.

With West Ham keen to sign a striker, Caicedo could be the man to provide a solution for Moyes in east London. But surely if Moyes lands the Ecuador international, Lazio will be even more determined to keep Immobile – therefore ruining Everton’s chances of landing the Italian.
