TBR View: Oliver Skipp form highlights why Tottenham should sell Harry Winks

Plenty of speculation has surrounded Tottenham star Harry Winks during recent months and in Oliver Skipp, they might have a perfect reason to consider selling him.

Winks has been linked with a move away from North London, with Valencia reportedly making moves to sign him back in January

Spurs resisted those advances but a decision could once again be considered during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has started just six Premier League games this season and hasn’t featured in the last seven domestic contests.

Winks is under contract until 2024 but Jose Mourinho could offload some players in the summer to make room for new recruits.

One factor for Tottenham to consider is the form of Skipp who is absolutely flying during his loan spell with Norwich City.

The Canaries are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League and the Spurs youngster has played in every game for them.

For the season, the 20-year-old has produced a pass success ratio of 87% and also makes over two tackles per game

Winks is paid by Tottenham and if he isn’t going to play those wages could be better used elsewhere.

Skipp is a player who could come back to the club and make an instant impact in the role of protecting the back four.

Mourinho has previously claimed the youngster could be a future captain and that bodes well for him.

Skipp already has 23 games for Spurs under his belt and he won’t be fazed by returning to the club and making an instant step up.

If anything, he’ll be raring to go and that could see Tottenham tempted into offloading Winks.
