TBR View: Louie Barry can be an Aston Villa version of Phil Foden
Aston Villa won the FA Youth Cup during 2020/21 and in Louie Barry the club has their very own Phil Foden brewing.
The youngster has been a tremendous part of the club’s development squads this season.
Recently claimed that the exciting talent wouldn’t be loaned out either and that in itself is intriguing.
Barry’s situation is not too dissimilar to that of Manchester City star Foden.

Pep Guardiola was criticised for months for refusing to allow the youngster out on loan.
Plenty of people thought he was bonkers for keeping the talent on his sidelines, rather than letting him out to play football.
Fast forward a year or two and now Foden is a regular for City and could star for England at Euro 2020.
Barry’s career could take a similar pathway. Villa clearly value him highly and Dean Smith might hand him a chance next season.
The 17-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable campaign. He has fired 20 goals in all competitions, winning a first-team appearance in the FA Cup.
He scored 13 times in the Premier League 2 campaign and also netted five in six during the FA Youth Cup.
Villa have a proud history when it comes to their academy. As a result, they will hope that Barry can be the next emerging youngster off the conveyor belt.
Villa youngster Barry can emulate City star
It may sound like a long shot but if he keeps progressing, the teenager can go all the way to the top.
After spells with West Brom and Barcelona, Barry has now found himself at Villa Park.
The talent operates as either a winger or a centre-forward and boasts immense energy.

He simply loves taking players on and perhaps more crucially knows where the back of the net is.
Villa can benefit from his sheer determination next season and perhaps loaning him out isn’t the best bet.
After all, that strategy didn’t do Foden any harm, did it?
