TBR View: Liverpool should use interest in midfielder to land Christian Eriksen
Gini Wijnaldum’s future at Liverpool is up in the air with Inter Milan the latest club to show their interest in the midfielder, , and the Reds should use that to their advantage.
The 30-year-old will see his contract expire in the summer and although a new deal is thought to have been offered, there is no sign just yet that he will pen an extension.
With that in mind, Liverpool might have a decision to make and if they do offload Wijnaldum, they could exploit Inter’s interest and demand Christian Eriksen in the deal.

The Denmark international hasn’t enjoyed a good year at the San Siro since checking in from Tottenham in January. He has scored just three goals and registered four assists from 33 appearances.
Inter are considering letting Eriksen leave in January and having spent seven years in the Premier League at Tottenham, he could be a quality acquisition for Liverpool.
Diogo Jota was added by Jurgen Klopp during the summer window and, as is usually the case with a signing made by Liverpool, he has hit the ground running at Anfield.
Options
Eriksen could be exactly the sort of player Klopp could utilise to pile some pressure on Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian has been out of sorts for a little while now, particularly when it comes to scoring goals.
The fact the 28-year-old typically operates in a No.10 role would also give the Liverpool boss the potential to shake up his system, utilising a 4-2-3-1 when he deems necessary.
Eriksen is paid and it perhaps seems unlikely that Liverpool would be willing to hand him such a salary.

If the club could use Wijnaldum in the deal, however, it would probably lower any potential fee that Inter would want to recoup for the attacking midfielder.
The man who has played 102 times for Denmark would have a point to prove and he’d surely relish the chance to return to the Premier League after previously excelling in England.
Swapping Eriksen for Wijnaldim could prove to be a masterstroke if a deal could be done.
