TBR View: Leeds should join reported chase for Barcelona defender Junior Firpo
With just two weeks until the January transfer window, Leeds United supporters will already be thinking about whether or not their club will be looking to do business in the New Year.
The Whites have made a strong start to the Premier League season, with the club 13th after 13 games, but there are still some areas of the squad that could do with some improvement.
If there is one area of the pitch that Marcelo Bielsa’s team should be focusing on in January, it’s the left-back position.
Versatile star Stuart Dallas is excellent when he slots into the full-back role and Ezgjan Alioski is a decent squad option too, but the team is crying out for a first-choice left-back.
One man that should pop up on the Leeds radar is Barcelona defender Junior Firpo, who is being linked with an exit from Camp Nou in January.

, there are three clubs that are interested in signing Firpo in the upcoming January window.
It is explained that West Ham, Granada and Napoli are all eyeing the 24-year-old left-back, who joined Spanish giants Barcelona for £16.5million from Real Betis in 2019.
The report explains that West Ham are looking at a loan-to-buy deal for the defender, as well as stating that Barcelona are open to allowing his exit next month.
Firpo looks like he’d be a perfect fit at Elland Road and a great target for Leeds to consider, which is why they should be alerted by reports that his departure from Barcelona is on the cards in January.
He is an all-action left-back with rapid pace and he’s got immense quality, despite playing second fiddle to Jordi Alba since his move to La Liga giants Barcelona.
The attack-minded full-back scored five goals and set up seven assists in 43 games for Real Betis, and his energy to get up and down the pitch could make him a great fit for Bielsa’s style at Leeds.
