TBR View: Everton should consider short-term move for Giroud
According to Spanis꧑h publication , Barcelona are considering a surprise move to sign outcast Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud before the close of the January transfer window. Following an injury to Luis Suarez, the La Liga giaౠnts are said to be looking for an option to bolster their strike force in the short term.
Giroud’s future ce♏rtainly lies away from Stamford Bridge. The 33-year-old Frenchman has managed just seven appearances for the Blues so far this season. With Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi ahead of him in the pecking order, Giroud will likely be keen to secure regular football elsewhere.

It’s obvious why a move to the Camp Nou would be attract💫ive to the former Arsenal target man. However, if Frank Lampard is open to offers on the striker, Barcelona should not be the only club expressing an interest. Everton would be wise to line up a move for the 2018 World Cup winner.

The Toffees were able to offload flop striker Cenk Tosun on in this winter window. Whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin has performed admirably up front for the Merseyside club, Carlo Ancelotti’s side is short on prolific back-up options. Giroud would bring experience and an eye for goal. On top of that, his stature would offer Everton’s attack a new dynamic, such as Tosun was supposed to provide. However, Giroud has already proven himself far more effective in the Premier League than the Turkish forward has.

On a short-term basis, Giroud could prove a fine addition to the ranks at Goodison Park. Hꦆe would likely get more game time there than he would with Barcelona too. If Everton c🍸an tempt him to join them this month, then they would be wise to do so.
