Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping to bring some new faces in at Goodison Park this month. Defence is an area the Toffees could certainly strengthen and they should consider renewing their interest in Athletic Bilbao defender Unai Nunez.
reported in October that Everton and Arsenal were contemplating a move for the Spanish centre-back. His release clause is claimed to be around £30 million, which could prove to be an absolute snip.

The 22-year-old has already made one appearance for the Spain national team and is one of the country’s best young defenders. He would certainly improve Everton’s centre-back options and Ancelotti must consider a move.
Yerry Mina, Michael Keana and Mason Holgate are the three options the club currently has in the heart of the defence. Although they are decent options, Nunez would be an upgrade on them all and will only improve in the coming years.
He has come of age in recent times at Bilbao and does not shy away on the big occasions. The young defender plays with a maturity rarely seen in someone his age and does not make many mistakes for a relatively inexperienced centre-back.

reports that his current club are almost certain that Nunez will leave this month. They feel that his release clause will attract a number of potential suitors and if he wants to go, Bilbao cannot stand in his way.
Everton should do everything they can to bring him to Goodison. The Toffees can offer him more first-team assurances than the likes of Manchester City could and also have the pull of working with a world-class manager in Carlo Ancelotti.
