TBR View: Arsenal must battle Manchester United for Jack Grealish’s signature this summer
According to the , Manchester United are plotting a major spending spree in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Red Devils are apparently interested in acquiring the services of English trio Jadon Sancho, James Maddison and Jack Grealish. The Daily Star also state that the club plan to raise funds for these purchases by offloading Paul Pogba.
The Old Trafford club’s squad could certainly do with some rejuvenation this summer. Sancho, Maddison and Grealish would all bring quality and attacking verve to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

However, landing all three of these players in a single window will not be easy or cheap. value at £108 million, at £54 million, and at £31.5 million. That’s a combined total of £193.5 million. What’s more, they can expect plenty of competition for each of these signatures.
One club who should be keen to hijack one of these proposed moves is Arsenal. The Gunners would be wise to swoop for Grealish themselves this summer.
TBR’s view
Arsenal’s midfield contingent currently lacks dynamism and flair. None of the likes of Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi or Granit Xhaka are ball-carriers, capable of beating an opponent with the ball at their feet and driving forward up the pitch. There hasn’t been a midfielder capable of regularly doing this at the Emirates Stadium since Santi Cazorla left the club. Grealish has the ability to restore this quality to Arsenal’s midfield, giving Mikel Arteta’s side a new dynamic in the middle of the park.

On top of that, with Mesut Ozil misfiring, the north London club could do with an injection of creativity. As per stats, Grealish has already racked up seven assists for Aston Villa this season. Ozil, meanwhile, has only provided so far in this campaign.
Whilst Manchester United may currently be in the ascendancy when it comes to chasing Grealish’s signature, Arsenal would be wise to join the hunt for the 24-year-old as soon as possible.
