TBR View: An absolute no-brainer for Tottenham to sign player for a bargain £12m
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has confirmed that striker Edinson Cavani has asked to leave the French champions this month – and a move to bring the Uruguayan powerhouse to Tottenham is a complete no-brainer.
Tottenham have already been linked with the 32-year-old this month, as the north Londoners look for a striker to fill the void left by Harry Kane – following his hamstring tear. Spurs are monitoring Cavani.
The 116-time international is considered one of Europe’s best centre-forwards, spoken about in the same bracket as Kane, Robert Lewandowski, Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero and more. But he has been afforded just six PSG starts this season.
over the weekend that the former Napoli star will be allowed to leave PSG if they receive a suitable offer. interested parties can sign Cavani for just £12million.

“We’ve always said the same thing about Cavani. We were hoping he would stay with the club, but today he asked to leave,” “For Cavani, we’re listening. We’re listening because we respect the player.”
It is a simple one for Daniel Levy and Spurs, they need to sign Cavani. At such a bargain fee, they would be getting a striker who is still more than capable of finding the back of the net – scoring 23 times in 33 games last season, and laying on nine assists.
In less than seven years at PSG, Cavani has scored an enormous 198 times for the French champions and is unbelievably strong in the air, with his feet and from the penalty spot. He is the perfect replacement for Kane.
What is best, is that Cavani will understand if he is not given regular game time as Kane’s back-up – mainly because he is entering the latter stages of his career, and will turn 33 next month. At £12million, then, signing Cavani is a no brainer.
