Swindon coach confirms interest in Leeds youngster Robbie Gotts
Swindon Town coach Tommy Wright has suggested, , that his side are interested in taking Robbie Gotts on loan from Leeds United, but admitted that they do not expect to be the only team in the running.
Gotts looks likely to be one of the players who may leave Elland Road before the window closes for good next Friday.
The 20-year-old has been in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans for much of his tenure. However, he has only managed to make a handful of appearances for the Leeds first-team.
So it would not come as a surprise if the youngster did leave the Whites on loan. And Wright admitted that he is a player on the Robins’s radar.
“I’ve watched Robbie quite a lot for Leeds – I know Leeds well having been there as a player,” he said, .
“He’s a good young player. You can see me smiling as I say that. I’m not saying it’s definite, but there is a bit of interest there from our point of view.
“But I think there is quite a bit of interest from plenty of other clubs too in Robbie.”

Despite Wright’s claim that there is plenty of interest, it would surely be fair to suggest that Richie Wellens’s side have to be real contenders.
Bielsa appears to have changed his stance on loan moves this season. In his first two years, the loan market was generally reserved for unwanted players Leeds could not find a permanent buyer for.
It is still the case that no player loaned out during Bielsa’s tenure has gone on to play for the club following their return.
This season however, looks to be different. Some of the club’s brightest prospects having already secured temporary moves elsewhere.
Bielsa has previously felt that keeping those starlets around would be better for their development than loan moves. But with Leeds now in the Premier League, that stance has been altered.
You would therefore, imagine that the Whites would do plenty of research on a club before they allow one of their best young players to join them on loan.
If that is the case, then Swindon have a clear advantage. The Robins have already taken Jordan Stevens for the season.
So you would imagine that Leeds would deem the County Ground to also be a good destination for Gotts.
