Swedish media react after new Tottenham signing Lucas Bergvall’s display in the cup yesterday
Swedish media have now been reacting to new Tottenham Hotspur signing Lucas Bergvall’s performance in a cup match yesterday.
Bergvall, who will join Tottenham permanently in the summer, played 72 minutes for Djurgarden in the Swedish Cup, which precludes the start of the league season.

The match was Bergvall’s first competitive club minutes of the new year, and he certainly impressed in the 2-0 win.
Ange Postecoglou and his team seemed very confident that they had signed a future superstar in the 18-year-old, and their faith seems justified.

Bergvall provided the assist for Djurgarden’s opening goal yesterday, and the Swedish outlet said it will be a joy to watch the Tottenham youngster in the spring.
They wrote: “He is currently one of the world’s most talked about young footballers.

“Something you think could be in his head considering the added pressure – but it rather seems to be something that makes him even better!
“Made one of his best efforts today in blue-striped, albeit against a very weak Skövde.
“Spinned up the red-clad several times and served several cross balls with terrible precision to his teammates.
“The 18-year-old will be a joy to watch in the spring and showed today once again that he is something very, very special. Got to crown the effort with his assist for Deniz Hümmets’ 1-0 goal.”
Of course, Tottenham fans will only be even more eager to see their young Swedish star in action in England following his performance yesterday.
As stated, it will be a big step up for Bergvall coming to Spurs, but there’s every reason to expect that he will be a success.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the Swede’s positioning develops under Postecoglou, and what his plan entails.
That being said, Spurs may now also be planning a move for a player who’s already one of the world’s best midfielders.
