Marcelo Bielsa is keen to bring in a new winger to improve his options out wide ahead of the promotion run-in.

And James fits the bill with a bid reportedly imminent. , Leeds are set to launch a £2.5m bid for James.

The 21-year-old has benefited from Swansea’s relegation to the Championship with first-team games coming more regularly this season.

In those 16 games, James has netted once and also contributed with three assists. The diminutive winger is a constant threat for the Welsh side, making 289 passes and 15 key passes in his 16 outings, .

Leeds are hunting for that sort of creativity to replace Samu Saiz, who departed to join Getafe at the start of the month.

Competing with Jack Clarke, Jack Harrison, Ezgjan Alioski and Izzy Brown (when back fit), James could fill Saiz’s void and help Leeds achieve promotion.

As a short-term and long-term plan, this is a shrewd signing and £2.5m is a snip if they can snap up the once-capped Wales international for that price.
