Swansea vs Leicester: Match Preview, likely line-ups and score prediction
Leicester go to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea this Sunday in what is a very important fixture for both sides. Swansea and Leicester sit on 21 points each, just one point from the relegation zone. The fixture is labelled as a ‘six-pointer’ and is a must win for both sides. It would not only carry the winner further away from the relegation zone but also would mean the victor would take vital points from a fellow relegation candidate.
Recent form
Swansea come into this game in decent form, with Paul Clement having apparently turned the dressing room morale around which has led to positive performances on the pitch, with the results to match. Despite a heavy 4-0 defeat to Arsenal at home, the Swans’ have secured wins away at Crystal Palace and Liverpool in recent weeks as well as getting a win at the Liberty against Southampton.
Leicester, on the other hand, have had a dreadful spell, having lost four games in a row. Their imperious form of last season, where, unbelievably, they were able to win the league, seems a galaxy away. They are leaking goals continuously at the back, conceding 3 goals against Chelsea, Southampton, and Manchester United whilst their inability to score goals, having not scored a Premier League goal in 2017, sees them at the wrong end of the table.
Predicted line-ups

Paul Clement has looked to create more consistency and familiarity to the Swansea line-up and this is something we are likely to see continue at the weekend. Recent January Luciano Narsingh will most probably feature again having made a positive impact against Manchester City and getting an assist for Sigurdsson’s goal.
As for Leicester, Ranieri opted to field a slightly weakened side against Derby midweek, perhaps with an eye on this vital game against Swansea on Sunday. Expect to see many returns to the starting line-up with players such as Robert Huth, Wes Morgan, Danny Drinkwater, and Jamie Vardy all left out in midweek and wanting to make a return. The fantastic display of Demarai Gray against Derby will likely see him start again against Swansea.
Suspensions and Injuries
Swansea are injury and suspension-free heading into this weekend’s home fixture. The only worry is that key midfielder Jack Cork could be suspended if he picks up another yellow card this weekend. Jordan Ayew, who has been with Ghana for the African Cup of Nations is likely to watch from the stands.
Leicester City also enter this fixture with a full strength squad. Islam Simani is set to return to the starting line-up to provide an aerial presence similar to the one Fernando Llorente gives Swansea at the other end of the field.
Our Prediction
Leicester have not won in 14 matches away from home and have had fewer days rest than Swansea coming into this fixture. Swansea are currently in very good goal scoring form and it’s difficult to see how a struggling Leicester defence will keep them out. Swansea City 2-0 Leicester City.
