Swansea City fans discuss Andre Ayew’s future, amid links with Leeds United

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Swansea City attacker Andre Ayew ahead of the January transfer window – and Swans fans are desperate to keep the Ghanaian, but many understand that he may leave the club.

GhanaSoccerNet have claimed that Leeds want to sign the 30-year-old ahead of the January window, which would see the Ghana captain reunite with his former marseille manager Marcelo Bielsa – after the duo worked together at the Ligue 1 club.

Following Swansea’s relegation at the end of the 2017-18 campaign, the 86-time international was sent on loan to Fenerbahce. After just five goals in 38 games for the Turkish side, Ayew returned to Swansea and has remained in Wales with no suitors.

But he is slowly picking his reputation off the floor under Steve Cooper. The versatile attacker, who can play out wide, up front or in the 10 role, has scored seven goals in the Championship and two more in the Carabao Cup – during his 21 outings.

Ayew has a contract at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2021, meaning it will require a transfer fee to sign the former West Ham United ace.

Leeds are now looking to take advantage of Ayew’s reported desire to return to the Premier League, with the Whites sitting in second and 10 points ahead of third-placed Preston North End. Swansea fans are desperate for Ayew to remain.

But supporters of the Welsh club are realistic, and reckon if a club comes calling, he will leave.
