According to , Santiago Gimenez will be out for three months after suffering a thigh injury, with the news coming a few weeks after the striker missed out on a Premier League move to Nottingham Forest.
With Tottenham believed to be close to sign Gimenez in June, the Mexico international was se🅺emingly viewed as a target for Spurs before Solanke appeared on the radar, a transfer that will take some months to determine if it was worth it.
Noted as a ‘superstar’, Gimenez’s injury could have huge ramifications on the striker winning a long-awaited move to the Premier League in the January transfer window, whereᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ English 𓄧clubs could be very active at the start of 2025.
Yet for Tottenham, the decision to not move for Gimenez has proven to be the correct one, especially wi💛th the striker now out until Decem🔜ber, whereas Solanke has started off well in north London.
Gimenez could still win January move to the Premier League
Gimenez is one of the best strikers⛄ outside of Europe’s top-five leagues, with the 23-year-old attacker last season hitting 26 goals in all competitions having scored 23 the year before with Feyenoord.
And even with the forwa✤rd out until December, there’s a good chance that Gimenez could win a move to the Premier League with many clubs in the division still in the market for an elite striker to lead the line.
