Sunderland will hope Celtic and Aberdeen do not strike this Scott McKenna deal
The transfer window might be finished in the Premier League, but in Scotland and the lower leagues deals can still go ahead. Celtic, for example, are trying to sign Scott McKenna from rivals Aberdeen. The Bhoys need to strengthen their defensive options with question marks over the future of Dedryck Boyata.
that Celtic have had a £3.5 million bid rejected for the 21-year-old. The same report suggests a future bid could include former Aberdeen loanee Ryan Christie as a makeweight.
Which will not please Sunderland fans.

Sunderland can also still make signings, with the Football League loan window open until the end of the month.
The Black Cats have built a good team under new manager Jack Ross. However, reports have suggested they are not yet done. that Ross could return to Scotland before the end of the month, in hope of luring Christie to the Stadium of Light.
The 23-year-old would be an excellent recruit for Sunderland. He has struggled for regular football at Celtic since his move in 2015. However, during a loan spell at Pittodrie last term, he registered 15 assists and eight goals in 42 games – an impressive return.
If he is given the chance to join a club where he has already experienced recent success, Sunderland will no doubt be fighting a losing battle trying to convince him of a swap south of the border.
Sunderland must hope no such deal can be struck between Celtic and Aberdeen.
