Sunderland are once again struggling to keep hold of a top young talent, with Logan Pye wanted by a number of clubs. Manchester United are one such team, suggesting the Red Devils could hand the 16-year-old left-back a five-year deal to fend off interest from Arsenal.
It would undoubtedly be a bitter blow for Sunderland, who have also lost the likes of Sam Greenwood, Morten Spencer and Luca Stephenson in recent times to Arsenal, Leeds United and Liverpool respectively.

But in this case, it could at least see some slight consolation in the potential loan arrival of an England under-19 international.
, Sunderland have discussed the potential of bringing in Garner on loan from Manchester United during negotiations over Pye’s potential Old Trafford switch.
TBR’s View
Garner, who has featured six times for the United first-team this season, has scored an impressive seven goals in 10 appearances for the under-23s this season. So he is clearly a talent in good form.
Capable of playing in central midfield or out wide, he would undoubtedly be a welcome recruit at the Stadium of Light.
It seems that Sunderland are accepting of the fact that Pye will be leaving the club and if they can bring in a player of Garner’s quality to help their promotion push then it might just lessen the sting of losing such an impressive young talent.
