Sunderland must hope Jack Hendry speaks to Lewis Morgan about potential loan switch
Sunderland are said to be interested in signing Jack Hendry on loan from Celtic. The Daily Mail suggests the 23-year-old could be allowed to leave the Bhoys this month until the end of the season. Sunderland, along with League One rivals Portsmouth and Bradford City are said to be keen on the player.
Sunderland boss Jack Ross will no doubt know all about the player from his time managing in Scotland and a deal would help Sunderland cover their current centre-back deficiencies.
One player at Celtic who can vouch for playing under Ross is winger Lewis Morgan.

The Celtic winger joined the Glasgow club at roughly the same time as Hendry last January. He arrived from St Mirren, but was immediately loaned back to the Paisley club, who at the time were managed by Ross.
Speaking in May, as Ross emerged on the Sunderland radar, the talented wide-man paid tribute to his former boss in conversation with The Scotsman. He suggested that Ross deserved to be linked with such big clubs after his success at the Simple Digital Arena.
“Jack played a massive part in the progress of St Mirren but there are other factors too – the chairman, the fans and the players.
“We got the results to stay in the Championship and then kicked on again this season. But most of the credit has to be attributed to Jack. He’s been brilliant for St Mirren and, rightfully, other clubs are looking at him.”
If Hendry wants some advice, he should speak to Morgan, who will no doubt suggest a loan spell at Sunderland would be a good move for the talented Scotland international.
Sunderland will hope that is the case, as Hendry could be a useful addition.
