‘Celtic have a star on their hands’: Sunderland fans react to performance of Lewis Morgan

Sunderland secured their place in the Checkatrade Trophy Final at Wembley with a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers.

The Black Cats were in cruise control throughout the contest and will face Portsmouth on March 31st.

Jack Ross’ side booked their place thanks to goals from Will Grigg and Lewis Morgan.

It was the performance of the Celtic loanee that perhaps caught the eye.

His goal capped a stunning performance and he picked the perfect time to play his best game for his temporary club.

The 22-year-old wasn’t given much on a look in with the Hoops and moved to Sunderland in January.

Last night he started his second game in succession and will hope for more opportunities.

Morgan took his goal extremely well and it helped Ross book a Wembley showdown.

The youngster can clearly play and it’s not really known why he didn’t get more of a look in at Celtic Park.

Now the managerial situation has changed north of the border, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Morgan.
