Sunderland fans are pleased with battling point against promotion rivals Barnsley
Sunderland drew 0-0 with promotion rivals Barnsley at Oakwell last night, meaning they stay four points behind the Tykes in the battle to clamber out of League One.
An impressive run of scoring in each game also came to an end, on a night where the Black Cats did not manage to show an awful lot of attacking intent, in tricky conditions.
There are two schools of thought about the result. On the one hand, it could be seen as a missed opportunity to make up some serious ground on the top two and be within their game in hand against Accrington of going into the automatic spots.
But on the other, the Black Cats avoided defeat on a night where losing would have all but finished off their chances of promotion, and kept on Barnsley’s coat-tails.

That’s the point of view many fans chose to take, and with ten matches still to come, there is not a need to panic just yet.
So we’ve put together some of the best reaction from a group of fans who are choosing to remain positive about the potential end to a season after two straight campaigns of despair and relegation…
Clean sheet and no loss to the most in form team in the league at the minute. 5/6 players out injured, awful wind, whys everyone complaining

A draw against the most in form team in the league .. yeah let’s complain

I’ve always said a draw is better than losing but 16 draws is just ridic.

I'll settle for that. Not ideal but gotta make that game in hand pay.

10 games. 30 points. Keep on keeping on

Genuinely think psychologically we get the boost here. They were at home and they saw this as their chance to finish us off. It’s not often that teams stop them scoring at home. Think this will be seen as a good result
