Stuart Dallas claims Kalvin Philips is Leeds hard man
Stuart Dallas has claimed that Leeds United teammate Kalvin Phillips is the hard man at Elland Road.
With defensive colossus Pontus Jansson exiting in the summer, there may have been question marks about the physicality within the group.
But the Whites have powerhouse centre-backs in Liam Cooper and Ben White, while Phillips is a no-nonsense defensive midfielder that is so strong at breaking up play.
Phillips is an all-action player that is firm with his tackling and a talisman on the pitch for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but does have guile to his game too with his range of passing.
The 23-year-old has committed his future to boyhood club Leeds with a new contract recently and is performing to a great level right now in the Championship.
“Kalvin just bullies everybody,” Dallas responded on when asked who the ‘hard man’ in the Leeds squad was.

TBR’s View:
Phillips is by no means the biggest in the Leeds group, but it’s hard to argue with Dallas’ selection as the squad’s hard man.
The midfield general has such a great balance to his game and is more than prepared to do the ugly work in the centre of the park for his team.
Despite the Yorkshire giants striving to play eye-catching football under Bielsa, it’s impossible to get out of the Championship without plenty of grit and some warriors on the pitch.
Phillips allows the likes of Pablo Hernandez to thrive further up the pitch for Leeds and the best thing is the youngster is still improving every game.
