Stuart Dallas admits the pain of last season’s play-off defeat
Stuart Dallas has been speaking of his play-off heartache with Leeds United ahead of the club’s clash with Barnsley this weekend.
The Northern Ireland international is coming off the back of an impressive performance against Germany for his nation. He also committed his long-term future to Leeds United this week, by signing a new contract until the summer of 2023.

Last season, despite scoring in the second-leg clash, Dallas could not help Leeds defeat Derby County in the semi-finals of the Championship play-offs.
this week, he has opened up about the pain of that defeat, suggesting it is the worst he has felt in his footballing career.
“The end of last season was the worst I have ever felt in football.
“I’ve experienced being knocked out of the Euros and the World Cup play-off, as well as not going up with Brentford, but losing to Derby in that play-off was the worst feeling ever…
“Everyone felt like we had what it took to go up, and we believed we could, but then there is a feeling of letting everyone down.”

Dallas has certainly not wallowed in defeat since the play-off exit. The Northern Ireland star has been one of Leeds star performers from their impressive start to the new campaign.
Leeds United will go top of the Championship again today if they can secure a win against Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.
It will be another sign of their promotion credentials ahead of a revenge mission in their following game, against Derby County, next weekend.
