Striker has scored three goals in just two games for new club after Arsenal rejected chance to sign him
Despite exploring several opportunities, Arsenal did not manage to sign a new striker for Mikel Arteta in the winter transfer window.
Arsenal made an attempt to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig – but the Bundesliga side did not want to sell – while the Gunners also bid for Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa.
Furthermore, Arsenal considered Mathys Tel – although Arteta did not feel the Frenchman represented an improvement on his existing options, and the teenager ultimately moved to Tottenham on loan.
There was – however – a striker offered to Arsenal who is now thriving elsewhere in Randal Kolo Muani.

TBR Football understand Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Kolo Muani on loan from PSG midway through January.

The France international had fallen out of favour under Luis Enrique at the Parc des Princes – and was allowed to leave after PSG signed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli.
A story from the added that Arteta did not consider the Frenchman to represent good value – and Juventus ended up signing the striker for a loan fee which could amount to a total of roughly £5m.
Now, that decision looks to be a foolish one from the Spaniard.
In just two Serie A appearances totalling 172 minutes, Kolo Muani – who Tottenham also considered – has scored three goals, including a strike against league leaders Napoli which came 43 minutes into his debut.

Of course, it could just be a honeymoon start for the 26-year-old and he may fizzle out, but at this moment in time, some Arsenal fans may feel he would’ve been worth bringing to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta could deploy Ethan Nwaneri as a striker
Arteta has already hinted he could use Nwaneri in a central position, with Kai Havertz the only recognised No.9 heading into the business end of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Spaniard said: “Ethan can play as a right attacking midfielder, left attacking midfielder, as a right winger and there is another position he can develop into in a few years time… Nine.
“He’s got the goal in front of him and he just looks at the goal. He has a tremendous ability to put the ball in the back of the net.”
It would be a huge responsibility for the 17-year-old as Arsenal aim to claw back six points in the Premier League title race against Liverpool, although the teenager is certainly talented enough to trouble defenders.
