Jhon Duran on four goals from two league games after joining Al-Nassr following Arsenal interest
In January, TBR Football revealed that Arsenal had enquired about signing Jhon Duran, along with Chelsea.
🎃West Ham United also had a big bid rejected for Duranꦬ, who was one of the most high-profile players available in the January window.
Duran🦂 ended up moving to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr after they struck a deal with Aston Villa worth around £70million.
꧟The 21-year-old has hit the ground running for Al-Nassr, registering four goals in his first two league appearances.
📖Duran didn’t manage to score on his debut, a 4-0 win over Al-Wasl in the AFC Champions League Elite,
♚However, his second game saw him bag a brace in a 3-0 league win over Al-Fayha.
♎Next up for Duran and Al-Nassr was a big game against Al-Ahli, and the Colombian star scored another brace as his side won 3-2.
ꦇArsenal were keeping tabs on Duran last summer too, but Gunners sources told TBR Football that no offers were made at the time either.
What Arsenal now plan to do in wake of Kai Havertz injury
🏅Arsenal’s failure to sign a striker in January came back to bite them this week as Kai Havertz was ruled out for the rest of the season.
ღOn Thursday, the Gunners confirmed that the Germany international suffered a hamstring injury at the team’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai.
🌳Havertz will be undergoing surgery over the coming days and is not expected to be back in action until the start of the new season.
TBR Football understands that Arsenal will not look to the free transfer market in wake of the injury blow to Havertz.
🎉As a result, the Gunners will need to look within their own ranks for a replacement, and Arsenal could perhaps promote a youth team player.
In addition, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has confirmed that ▨Mikel Arteta could look at using one of his defenders in attack.
