The pair won an FA Cup together in 2017, but unfortunately their partnership at the Emirates coincided with a period of decline for Arsenal’s trophy hopes.

That being said, Cech must have learned a lot from Wenger during his days working so closely alongside him as one of the squad’s senior players.

And when speaking on ‘’ recently, Cech did share a story of what Wenger once told him at Arsenal.

Wenger rightfully will always be remembered as one of the greatest managers ever, a coach who changed the landscape in England at the time.

Cech explained: “Arsene once said that being a coach is the strangest thing in the world because you hire people on Monday and then you fire 10 on Saturday, who don’t go to the game.

“It’s like you get hired and then fired on Friday if you don’t go to the game and don’t make the team.

“And then you come back on Monday and the coach comes in and says sorry about the sacking, now you are, back come training again.”

It’s always so interesting to get an insight into Wenger’s methods and reasoning whilst he was at Arsenal.

And Cech’s story here perhaps explains why Wenger was considered to be such an excellent man manager, he cared about his players.

All that being said, Wenger has also recently claimed that one former Arsenal player actually had a right foot as good as Thierry Henry’s
