Gerrard has slammed Morelos for poor finishing after Hearts draw.
Rangers slumped to a 1-1 home draw against Hearts on the weekend.
The Gers would have gone four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a win.
However, Hearts netted a 90th minute equaliser, keeping them in touching distance of Steven Gerrard’s side.
That wouldn’t have been the case, however, had Gerrard’s side taken their chances.
Alfredo Morelos was one of the players responsible for the glut of missed chances.
The Colombian has not been in his usual goalscoring form this season.
In eight games for the Gers in the league he has just two goals to his name ().

Speaking after the game, Gerrard had this to say about his misfiring forward ():
“I don’t think he’s at his best. But he’s still getting into the areas and he’s still getting chances. He must have had four or five on Saturday.”
“We need to maybe sharpen him up and get him to that next level and I’m sure the goals will come.”
“But he’s certainly not at his outstanding best, that’s for sure.”
“I don’t think it’s confidence.”
“I think it’s that little bit of quality that’s needed.”
“We need to be that little bit more ruthless, that little bit more selfish when they come, just to kill teams off.”
“We can’t keep creating 25, 26, 27 chances and only score one goal.
“That’s not enough.”
It’s hard to disagree with what Gerrard had to say.
On the day, Morelos racked up an xG of 1.01 as he drew a blank ().
That came as he took seven shots, had three of them blocked and put four off target.
One of those was classified as a big chance and it’s simply not good enough from the 25-year-old.
Gerrard will have to work on his side’s finishing, but he can’t do it all and will need Morelos to help him out.
