Steven Gerrard says he played with a striker at Liverpool who was even better than Fernando Torres
Steven Gerrard is one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history.
Indeed, the former Liverpool captain is an all-time great, and while he was the main man for the Merseyside club for a long time, he did also have some very talented teammates.
Steven Gerrard played with some amazing strikers during his time at Liverpool from Michael Owen to Robbie Fowler.
However, Gerrard’s most iconic partnership at Liverpool may well have been with Fernando Torres.
Torres and Gerrard were magic together for a period, but according to Stevie G, speaking to TNT Sports, he actually played with a better striker than Torres at Liverpool.

Steven Gerrard names the best striker he played with at Liverpool
Gerrard worked with some incredible centre-forwards during his time at Anfield.
Michael Owen was a Ballon d’Or winner, Robbie Fowler was a legend, while Fernando Torres won the World Cup.
However, according to Gerrard, the best striker he played with at Liverpool was in fact Luis Suarez.
Gerrard played with Suarez towards the end of his career, but he still considers him the best centre-forward he worked with at Anfield, and for good reason.
Suarez was incredible for Liverpool, and Gerrard considers him to be the best of the best in terms of the strikers he played with.
Luis Suarez’s record alongside Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard only played 95 matches alongside Luis Suarez, but in that time, the Uruguayan certainly showed his quality.
Suarez almost led Liverpool to a Premier League title back in 2014, and during that season, he put on perhaps the most dominant single-season display of any Premier League striker, netting 31 goals.
Suarez’s record alongside Gerrard is certainly something to behold.
