Steven Gerrard has posted a wordless reaction after Rangers announced that Steven Davis will stay at Ibrox next season with the midfielder signing a new one-year contract.
As this past season ended, there appeared to be some doubts over the futures of two Rangers legends. Allan McGregor, of course, is still yet to make a decision over whether he will continue playing.

And Davis was another who appeared to have a decision to make. The 37-year-old had made almost half the number of Scottish Premiership appearances this year than he had in the title-winning campaign.
The Northern Ireland captain still managed 33 games in all competitions. And it seems that he feels that he has plenty more to offer.

Rangers have announced that Davis has signed a new one-year deal at Ibrox. And the midfielder has taken to Instagram to express his delight about the fresh terms.
Plenty of teammates for club and country responded with messages congratulating Davis. But there was also a reply from Gerrard, who was clearly pleased to hear the news…

Gerrard posted reaction with Steven Davis signing new Rangers contract
Davis has been an amazing servant for Rangers across his two spells. He is rapidly approaching 350 appearances for the club. And he was integral in their sensational league title win during Gerrard’s tenure.
Obviously, Giovanni van Bronckhorst is unlikely to see him as a regular fixture in the side moving forward. But Davis has adapted his game. And it seems that he could go on for some time yet.
He is one of the players who helps set the standard at Ibrox. So it could make a real difference that he is set to stay as Rangers look to build on a promising season and target reclaiming their Scottish Premiership crown.
