Steven Gerrard reacts to Glen Kamara reports amid Leeds links
Steven Gerrard has suggested that Rangers are yet to receive any interest in Glen Kamara despite recent reports linking the midfielder with Leeds United, and seemed to hint that the Gers may be open to discussing a new contract with the 24-year-old, .
Kamara has been outstanding since moving to Rangers in January. The Light Blues had already agreed a pre-contract deal with the Finland international ahead of the summer, but decided to get him through the Ibrox door much sooner.
And it proved to be an inspired move. Kamara was fantastic during the second-half of last season. And, after enduring an arguably underwhelming start to this campaign, he has looked to be back to his best in recent months.
Interest in Kamara
Unsurprisingly, there appears to be plenty of interest in Kamara. that Leeds were interested, while three Premier League clubs also wanted the former Dundee ace.
Gerrard insisted that Rangers are yet to speak any of his reported admirers. And the Rangers boss went on to laud Kamara and the impact that he has made.
“We haven’t heard of any interest down south, we’ve read tonnes about it but we haven’t heard of interest,” . “The message for Glen and the other players out there is that we always reward our players for the consistent performances over a long period of time. Glen will be treated no different.
“But Glen’s been outstanding since he walked in the door. He’s still young as well, of course, and he’s going to have days where he is not nine or 10 out of 10, he’s a human being, but I’ve been absolutely delighted with him. Sometimes I still have to pinch myself to realise that we got that player for what we got him for.”

As Rangers confirm on their official website, the Gers landed Kamara for just £50,000. So it looks inevitable that the Gers will make a huge profit on him whenever they do sell him.
that offers of around £8 million may tempt Rangers into a sale. That would represent an incredible piece of business given what he arrived for.
But it would also be a big statement if they could keep Kamara at Ibrox beyond January. Kamara in Rangers’s midfield may be more beneficial in the second-half of the season than £8 million.
And with Kamara likely to be a part of Finland’s squad for Euro 2020, there is every chance that Rangers would be able to demand a lot more than the current asking price if they delay any sale until the summer.
