Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has lavished praise on midfielder Steven Davis as his team prepare to face Hamilton at Ibrox on Sunday.
The Gers played their part in a stunning 3-3 draw with Benfica last night, with Gerrard’s men looking set for a big three points at one stage.
Connor Goldson’s own goal got the Portuguese champions off to a flyer but an own goal by Diogo Goncalves and strikes by Glen Kamara and Alfredo Morelos saw Rangers lead 3-1.

Nicolas Otamendi was sent off after just 19 minutes but Benfica weren’t to be denied. Rafa Silva and Darwin Nunez scoring late on to earn a share of the spoils.
Ahead of Sunday’s game, Gerrard has heaped praise on midfielder Davis for his form during the first part of the 2020/21 campaign.
“Steven (Davis) is in good form and has been since returning from lockdown. His professional attitude and application are amazing. He returned from lockdown in phenomenal shape.”
The 35-year-old has been rolling back the years during the current season with a string of fine performances.
He has featured in 15 games under Gerrard during the current campaign, excelling in various midfield roles.
Davis has enjoyed a stunning career which has seen him earn 117 caps for Northern Ireland.
Given Gerrard’s comments, it seems as though Davis will remain an important player this season.

On current form, he is proving undroppable and his experience in midfield is really hoping the younger players thrive.
Rangers supporters will hope Davis can continue his rich vein of form and lead the Light Blues to some silverware.
