Steven Gerrard posts wordless response on Rangers player’s Instagram message, he seems impressed
Glasgow Rangers enjoyed one of their finest European nights on Thursday.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox charges ran out 4-2 winners over Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.
Rangers took the lead in the 38th minute as James Tavernier fired home from the penalty spot.

Three minutes later, the Ibrox captain was involved again for the Gers’ second.
Joe Aribo flicked Tavernier’s corner in at the near post for Alfredo Morelos to poke the ball home.
John Lundstram then made it three with a fierce effort from Ryan Kent’s cutback.
Dortmund pulled a goal back on 51 minutes through Jude Bellingham.
However, Dan-Axel Zagadou scored an own goal not long after to restore Rangers’ three-goal lead.
Raphael Guerreiro pulled another one back eight minutes from time, but BVB couldn’t mount a late comeback.
Tavernier epitomised Rangers’ quality and drive throughout, and was still pushing forward late on in the game.
The Rangers skipper took to Instagram after the game with a for his teammates and the Ibrox fanbase.
“What a night,” he wrote. “Unbelievable team performance against a top side! Thank you to all our travelling supporters.”
And former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was one of those who praised Tavernier in response.
The 41-year-old replied with two fire emojis.
Michael Beale, Gerrard’s assistant, also replied – he wrote “go on the boys”.

Gerrard may have split opinion after leaving Rangers to join Aston Villa mid-season, but it’s nice to see he’s still looking out for his former side.
