Steven Gerrard delivers hilarious reaction when Rangers boss asked about Newcastle speculation

not to ask “silly questions”, after the Rangers gaffer was asked about rumours he could join Newcastle.

Gerrard, 41, has been brilliant for Rangers since taking over back in 2018. The Gers gaffer has won 122 of his 188 games as Ibrox manager.

He added another win to his collection as Rangers manager on Thursday night, beating Danish side Brondby 2-0. A crucial European win.

But as his stock rises, so do onlooking glances from the Premier League. He continues to be linked with a move to Newcastle United.

Steve Bruce was sacked on Wednesday and the favourites remain to be Paulo Fonseca, Eddie Howe and Lucien Favre. But Gerrard is linked, too.

Asked on BT Sport about interest from Newcastle and whether he would be tempted, Gerrard responded hilariously to the reporter.

“Do I look happy? Do I look settled? Don’t ask me silly questions then,” Gerrard responded, smiling as he answered the question.

Gerrard to Newcastle: Rangers fans will love his comments

It is true that Rangers have not been at their best so far. It is also true that Gerrard’s stock was higher in the summer. But fans will be delighted.

Gerrard has earned iconic status for his time in charge at Rangers – and fans are desperate for him to remain. He has a contract until June 2024.

Of course, he would be an exciting appointment for Newcastle. But it looks like he will be staying put for now, to the delight of Rangers fans.
