Steven Gerrard has confirmed during his latest press conference, , that Greg Docherty is considering his options with clubs interested in luring the midfielder away from Ibrox.
The 23-year-old has not featured in any of Rangers’s three games since football resumed. In fairness, he is battling for a place in the team where Gerrard boasts considerable depth.

But given that he has struggled to force his way into Gerrard’s plans since the Englishman’s appointment, the signs did look somewhat ominous.
And after responding to a question concerning Borna Barisic’s future, Gerrard indicated that Docherty may be on his way in the near future.

“The only person I can give you something on is Greg Docherty,” . “There’s interest from down south and he’s obviously considering his options.”
TBR View: Docherty needs something special if leaving on loan
It is telling that Gerrard did single out Docherty. That would surely suggest that a potential move is expected, and may even be well down the line.
It remains to be seen if it is another loan or whether he will be allowed to leave permanently. Some fans will certainly be disappointed if it is the latter.
Unfortunately however, it is becoming tougher to see Docherty forcing his way into the picture at Ibrox. He has previously impressed out on loan, so he may need to produce something special this time around – if he does leave temporarily – to really catch Gerrard’s eye.
