Steven Davis has claimed that Rangers teammate Ianis Hagi will have a big future
Senior Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has claimed that teammate Ianis Hagi has a “big future” ahead of him and believes he’s a quality young player.
The pair will be in direct competition against each other on Friday night, as Romania face Northern Ireland in the Nations League.
Davis has given a glowing ahead of the game on Romanian youngster Hagi, who he reckons has a lot of potential.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been involved in all six league games for Rangers so far this season and his loan transfer to Ibrox was turned into a permanent one in the summer.
He’s a versatile attacker that is a threat in the final third with his quick feet and eye for goal, which is why he can play in central or wide areas.
“He has a lot of ability and a lot of potential. Ianis is a very good character and wants to learn. He has a big future in the game,”

TRB’s View:
Hagi is certainly nowhere near the finished article and his performances are still a little erratic at times, but there is no doubt he’s got brilliant individual talent and it will interesting to see how he performs over the course of the 2020/21 season.
The dazzling youngster has shown in some games he’s capable of running the show and when his confidence is up it’s difficult for opposition defences to stop him.
Gers manager Steven Gerrard does have options in the final third of the pitch now and Hagi’s first job is to find consistency to become a nailed-on starter, with more goals and assists a way to help his cause.
