Steven Bergwijn posts wordless reaction after what Dele Alli did for Besiktas last night

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Dele Alli has not had the easiest twelve months of his career.

Alli left the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in January after being surplus to requirements under Antonio Conte.

The 26-year-old joined Frank Lampard’s Everton, but Alli struggled to convince Lampard of his talents.

The England international made the move to Besiktas on loan, looking to reignite his career.

He made his debut last week against Sivasspor, and received plenty of support from his former teammates.

Alli went one better yesterday, scoring his first goal for the Turkish side against Ankaragucu.

The attacking midfielder arrived late at the back post, and finished past the keeper from close range.

He wheeled away in celebration with his teammates as Besiktas went top of the Turkish Super Lig.

He was substituted after 66 minutes, and later revealed he picked up a knock during the game.

Alli’s teammates react to first Besiktas goal

“First goal for Besiktas. Frustrating to have picked up an injury but hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”

“Well done to the team on securing the 3 points.”

Steven Bergwijn posted a love heart, copying the celebration Alli did when he scored.

His England teammate Jack Grealish said: “Love to see it”

Former Tottenham teammate Kyle Walker-Peters wrote: “Delstroyer”.

There are plenty of people who will be hoping Alli can get his career back on track in Turkey.

At 26, Alli still has the time to get back to his best and return to the Premier League.

Playing well and scoring goals for Besiktas has to be Alli’s focus for the next 12 months.

It’s started well in Turkey so far, and as long as the injury he’s picked up isn’t too serious, he’ll play plenty of football before the World Cup break.
