Steve Parish reacts to Crystal Palace win on Twitter; comments on Leeds

Despite Leeds United suffering another heavy defeat this week, the Whites appear to have gained another admirer with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish praising Marcelo Bielsa’s side on Twitter following their clash.

The Eagles ran out 4-1 winners at Selhurst Park. It proved to be another hugely frustrating game for Leeds, who were beaten by the same scoreline at home to Leicester this week.

Much of the damage was done during the first-half. The Whites conceded two early on and had a Patrick Bamford goal controversially ruled out for offside.

Bamford did see a goal stand shortly after Palace’s second. But a freak own goal just before the break ensured that Palace restored their two-goal advantage heading into the interval.

And the points were safe with 20 minutes remaining. Some poor defending allowed the home side to grab a fourth.

The last two results leave Bielsa with plenty to ponder over the international break. Leeds were missing a handful of key players. But there are some real problems to address.

Palace were able to ask a number of questions going forward. And in truth, it rarely felt like a second Leeds goal was coming before Roy Hodgson’s men got a fourth.

Nevertheless, the Whites did receive some praise from Parish on social media following the game. The Palace chairman suggested that the newly-promoted side deserve credit for their approach…
