Steve Nicol thinks Jadon Sancho would reject Liverpool because he wouldn’t play enough

Former Liverpool player Steve Nicol believes sought-after England international Jadon Sancho would reject a move to Anfield this summer.

As per Nicol says he would love to see Sancho in Liverpool red – as opposed to Manchester United’s – but doesn’t feel he’d be happy in a rotation system.

He : “If I was advising him, let me put it that way, I would like to see him at Liverpool. He would be fantastic. If he could get his head round playing second fiddle to Mane and Salah, that would be huge for Liverpool.

“They could save the legs of both of those two and kind of swap the three of them in and out. But he’s not going to do that, he’s going to go somewhere to play. So I think Liverpool’s out.”

TBR’s View – Liverpool don’t need Sancho

Nicol is right to predict that Sancho would be second fiddle at Anfield and that’s not what he needs at this stage of his career or value for money for a player who would cost as much as he would.

Liverpool need squad depth but not a big-money superstar of Sancho’s ilk and it would be a surprise if he’s in the famous red shirt next season.

Jurgen Klopp would be better served using Harry Wilson as a supplementary squad winger, especially if Xherdan Shaqiri’s fitness problems persist.
