Steve Bruce says 50-year-old Manchester United managerial target is ‘very good’

Manchester United have been linked with a number of managers in recent months amid uncertainty over Erik ten Hag’s Old Trafford future.

Despite a promising first season with the Red Devils, the 54-year-old is now struggling to silence his doubters and continues to have a point to prove.

Back in March, reported that Manchester United are yet to make a decision on ten Hag’s future. However, they apparently have their eye on a number of managers should he leave.

Brentford’s Thomas Frank is one of the coaches reportedly on the Red Devils’ radar, along with the likes of Gareth Southgate and Roberto De Zerbi.

Apparently, Manchester United chiefs have been impressed by the way Frank has built a high-energy team and worked in a data-driven environment at Brentford.

What has Manchester United legend Steve Bruce said about Thomas Frank?

Now, Red Devils legend Steve Bruce has praised the Danish coach. He believes Frank is “very good” at what he does, has a “huge personality”, and “everyone likes him”.

“Brentford have been going along nice and quietly for a few years now. They are a well run club, recruitment and selling ability is incredible,” he told on Wednesday.

“The ability to keep Brentford in the Premier League is what keeps Thomas Frank at the forefront of conversations and in the frame of most jobs that come up.

“Everyone likes him, a huge personality it seems, and a very good coach. Whether he will ever get the chance at one of the top jobs I don’t know, but you wish him all the best with it.”

It’ll be interesting to see what happens at Man United regarding the manager’s position come the end of the season.

The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the table. And their hopes of sealing a Champions League place are rapidly diminishing.

Frank would be an interesting shout for Manchester United. He has more than proven himself at Premier League level for a team punching above its weight.

At the same time, the Red Devils may want a more high-profile manager with a record of winning silverware. Therefore, the 50-year-old may not be the most inspiring appointment for fans.
