Steve Bruce backed as best option for Newcastle by Danny Murphy
Danny Murphy has backed Steve Bruce amid Newcastle speculation.
The talkSPORT pundit has claimed that for the rest of the season, Bruce is the best option for the Magpies.

“There is no obvious candidate to come into a relegation battle.”
“Who’s out there more equipped than Bruce? No one jumps out at me.”
Danny Murphy believes should stick with Steve Bruce this season.
Murphy’s argument is that with Newcastle in a relegation scrap and unable to bring in new players until January, Bruce is the best option.
He managed to keep the Geordies up last season and Murphy thinks he can do so again.
The fears that are outlined by the former Fulham and Liverpool man are that a new manager could do more harm than good.
This is a fair point from the 44-year-old, but it’s one the Newcastle fans don’t want to hear.
The majority of the supporters have wanted Bruce out for a long time prior to this takeover.
We’re early enough in the season too, that a new manager could easily have time to turn things around at St. James’ Park.
The supporters just want to see whole sale changes.

Amanda Stavely has promised investment across the board.
The fans expect to see the training facilities, stadium and squad all improved in the coming years.
A new manager will almost certainly come in and will probably be in place within the coming weeks.
However, there is a legitimate argument that Bruce may be a means to an end for the rest of the season.
The 60-year-old sits on 999 games in management and could make it 1000 if he survives through until Sunday.
However, it’s looking more and more likely that the won’t make it to the end of the week.
