Stephen Warnock responds when asked by fan about Liverpool exit on Instagram

Stephen Warnock has responded after being asked by a supporter about his exit from Liverpool whicℱh saw him leave Anfield to joined Blackburn Rovers in January 2007 – and🐻 the former England defender has claimed it was “the best thing I did”.

Warnock, 37, clocked up 67 appearances for Liverpool after coming through the academy at Melwood. However, he was neꦦver considered first choice with the Reds and went on to play for a whole host of English sides.

The left-back played his best football at Aston Villa and Blackburn in the Premier League, while fading into the Championship 𓄧and League One during the latter stages of his career. He also played for Leeds, Derby and Wigan.

Asked by a Liverpool fan over his £1.2million () exit from the M💎erseyside giants in January 2007, Warnock described the move as the “best thing” he did, as the player recalls needing to play for a club where he was appreciated.

TBR’s view – Warnock right, as best football came away from Anfield

Warnock was excౠellent for both Aston Villa and Blackburn and earned his England caps during that time. At Liverpool, he was a bit-part player and – without being harsh – probably not good enough for The Reds.

His exit saw Warnock gain regular game time and become one of the best left-backs in the division – sﷺo leaving Liverpool was certainly the right decision.
