Stats show Reguilon is much better under Nuno at Tottenham

Stats show huge Reguilon improvement under Nuno at Tottenham.

The Lilywhites have enjoyed Sergio Reguilon’s performances this season and rightly so.

The Spanish defender has been fantastic so far in his second spell at Spurs.

In fact, the improvement from last season to this one has been remarkable.

This season, under Nuno Espirito Santo, we’re really seeing the best of Reguilon.

When comparing the Spaniard to other Premier League full-backs he comes out very well.

He’s in the 88th percentile for interceptions and goal-creating actions, the 80th for pressures and the 91st for being dispossessed ().

This is a huge improvement on the stats that he was putting up last year under Jose Mourinho.

Under Mourinho, Reguilon showed glimpses.

However, he wasn’t playing the way he is now.

For those same metrics last season, the numbers weren’t quite as good.

Reguilon was in the 57th percentile for interceptions, 83rd for goal-creating actions, 76th for pressures and only the 22nd for being dispossessed ()

As stats heavy as these last few sentences have been, they show a clear improvement.

Reguilon has been fantastic this season.

Under Nuno Espirito Santo the performances of the left-back are amazing.

Mourinho, despite signing him, clearly didn’t get the best out of the Spaniard.

All that the Lilywhites have to do now is fight off Real Madrid’s interest given their buy-back clause.

If the 24-year-old is to remain in North London, though, he’s a player who can be relied upon for years to come.

Age is on his side and the performances are only getting better.

It’s now up to the club to try and keep him and Nuno to keep getting the best out of the star defender.
