Stat show Tottenham missed a trick by not signing Ings
Tottenham missed out by failing to sign Danny Ings.
The Aston Villa striker was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham from Southampton over the summer.
The impressive English goalscorer has always looked dangerous when he’s been fit.
However, despite the heavy rumours linking him with Spurs (), the Lilywhites missed out.
Instead, Ings made the £25m switch to Aston Villa (), where he’s shone for the Villans.
He scored his third goal of the season against Wolves this weekend as he’s continued his strong start to life in Birmingham ().
However, after that goal vs Wolves, a stat has emerged about Ings’ goalscoring prowess.
Danny Ings has scored 25 Premier League goals since the start of 2020. Only Mo Salah, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy & Son Heung-min have scored more in that period.

A really impressive record considering the clubs he has played for.
Only Bruno Fernandes, Mo Salah, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Jamie Vardy have outscored Ings since the start of 2020.
That is an incredible stat given some of the players in the Premier League.
This shows just how impressive Ings has been.
Those numbers should have been enough for Tottenham to part with £25m for the then-Southampton man.
However, the Lilywhites not only failed to sign Ings, but failed to sign anyone to play alongside Harry Kane.

Not only does Ings know the Premier League, but he scores in consistently.
The failed move has left Spurs without a viable backup for Kane as the same old problems surface in North London.
Seeing just how clinical Ings is, though, will really hit home how big of a mistake Spurs made in not reaching into their pocket for him.
