‘Starting to shine’… Eddie Nketiah believes 24-year-old Arsenal player can be a huge success at the club

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has now been discussing the fortunes of one of his newer teammates following a draw with PSV Eindhoven.

Nketiah was Arsenal’s solitary scorer on the night, a strike that could prove a timely reminder of his goal-scoring instincts.

And as well as being proud of his own efforts, Nketiah was full of praise for Arsenal teammate Kai Havertz against PSV.

Much like a lot of fans and pundits, the striker believes that Havertz is now starting to show his best in Arsenal colours, and he was excited for what he can go on to achieve.

Speaking to , Nketiah said: “He is a great player. It was always going to take time to adapt, being at another club and coming in, it’s normal it takes time.

“I think he has done well and he has just won player of the month. He is really starting to shine and he has got a lot of qualities.

“It is just about us as players being able to adapt off that and him learning our games too.

“Game by game, when we play with him we start to grow the connection. Hopefully it is only going to get better.”

Of course, Havertz does still face a challenge to win a permanent spot in Arsenal’s starting side.

The German is making a strong claim to the number eight role vacated by Granit Xhaka in the summer.

However, given how strongly Arsenal are being linked with Douglas Luiz either in January or the summer – a player one pundit thinks would love to join Arsenal, it seems that Declan Rice may have a future as an eight, too.

Having multiple options will of course be a bonus to Mikel Arteta, but it’s certainly one to ponder.

Either way, the evolution of this Arsenal team will be fascinating to watch, and it seems like Nketiah thinks Havertz will be a key part of it.

Perhaps the bigger question is whether Eddie Nkeitah will be around to see it.

Despite his excellent showing yesterday, the striker is said to be available in January by one source
