‘Star’, ‘leading the way’: Some fans think Liverpool have a truly ‘amazing’ player in their ranks
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has reportedly called a meeting with the 19 other Premier League captains to discuss the European Super League.
The Reds are one of 12 European clubs – of which six are in the Premier League – that have signed up to the breakaway competition.
The proposal involves the clubs forming their own competition to rival the UEFA Champions League, and it has been widely criticised by many pundits, clubs and fans.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham complete the English six-club contingent.
In terms of continental European clubs, the six Premier League clubs are set to be joined by AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus and Real Madrid.
And according to the , Henderson is set to lead the players’ response to the controversial plans.
The report has been welcomed by fans of numerous Premier League clubs, including those who have signed up to the ESL:

The outcome doesn’t reflect on Henderson. The very fact that he asked such a thing is incredibly honourable and is more than 90% of the so called captains.Hendo is a model pro, a true leader an I respect him for that as an Arsenal fan. I hope he stays in the sport after retirement

Jordan Henderson is amazing for organising all the captains of the clubs to stop the super league. Also well done to the many other who are going against this disgusting greedy anti-football project.
If the players refuse it can’t go ahead.

On Monday, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp stated that neither him nor the players had been consulted over the Super League plans.
James Milner, who captained the Reds against Leeds in Henderson’s absence, also expressed his worry about the plans, saying “I don’t like it and hopefully it doesn’t happen.”
