Stan Collymore names the Aston Villa defender who was ‘magnificent’ vs Arsenal
Stan Collymore has given his verdict on the performance of Ezri Konsa for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The former Villa striker was hugely impressed by the display produced by Konsa.
So, what has Stan Collymore said about Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa? Let’s take a look.
Praise for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa vs Arsenal
Well, Aston Villa have got the better of Arsenal at Villa Park in the Premier League.
Scotland international midfielder John McGinn scored the only goal of the match. It came in the seventh minute.
Former Villa striker Stan Collymore was following the match. As you can see, the pundit was impressed by the display produced by Ezri Konsa.
Konsa started the match at right-back. The 26-year-old, who is a centre-back by trade, played for 66 minutes. Like so many times this season, he played well.
The English defender had a pass accuracy of 87%, took 38 touches, made two tackles, three interceptions and one clearance, and put in one cross.
Aston Villa flourishing under Unai Emery
Aston Villa are going from strength to strength under former Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
Villa beat Manchester City 1-0 at Villa Park in the Premier League in midweek. City won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season.

The Villans have got the better of Arsenal 1-0 this evening. They are now third in the Premier League table with 35 points from 16 matches.
Villa are now just two points behind leaders Liverpool and only a point behind second-placed Arsenal.
I do not think that Villa will be able to challenge for the Premier League title this season. They do not have as strong a squad as City, Liverpool and Arsenal do. But, in my view, the Villans can certainly compete for a place in the top four.
