Spurs should sell Harry Kane now and try to sign Raul Jimenez
Spurs are looking more likely than ever to cash in on Harry Kane and moving for Wolves star, Raul Jimenez, could at least soften the blow.
claims Wolves are asking for around £80m for Jimenez. The move from the Molineux outfit is intended to put onlooking clubs off their star Mexican forward.
Furthermore, Jimenez himself has already hinted he will stay with Wolves regardless of their league finish this season.
He’s also contracted for another three seasons, so it is obvious any club wanting to move for Jimenez will have to pay the very top dollar.
However, Spurs could have that sort of money available if they do sell Kane. Indeed, recently about his future and appeared to hint at being open to a potential move.
So, would Spurs be wise to cash in on Kane and bring in Jimenez in his place? It makes for an interesting debate.
Jimenez will be as good as it gets in terms of Kane replacements
If we are talking about in-form forwards during this Premier League season, they don’t come much more impressive than Raul Jimenez.
His performances and goals throughout the season, both in Europe and the Premier League, have led Wolves to the verge of another stunning season.
Jimenez has 13 PL goals and nine in the Europa League. Further to that, he’s also a real team player, contributing six assists in the league too.
If you look at last season, Kane scored 17 times. If the Premier League does resume, you’d widely expect Jimenez to at least hit that number for Wolves.
Money left over if Kane sale is a go
The likelihood for Spurs if they do sell Harry Kane is that they’ll get well in excess of £100m. Indeed, place a £135m value on Kane.
Given the values on there can often be wide of the mark, Spurs might well fetch around the £150m mark for Kane.
That would, of course, give them the chance to land Jimenez and have excess cash. Jose Mourinho is intent on building a squad with new players this summer.
While most Spurs fans won’t want to imagine life without Kane, giving Mourinho Jimenez and allowing him to build his own XI, might just be the way forward.
